Before
The doorway had been pulled out and poorly spackled and framed back together.
OG Vent fan. It’s vented through the roof though, which is nice.
If it’s stupid and it works it ain’t stupid
Before and after of the ceiling paint.
First coat on the ceiling is done
This thing was a nightmare to carve out of the wall
So the last guy who did this just left the hole in the wall and packed it with insulation.
Old window molding, which was half painted and half wood
Molding removed from the window
Old light fixture
I stole lights form the OG fixutre and hard wired them so I had light at night.
Molding around door removed
First wall coat
The old lines leaked at the cutoff if you left the pressure there, which meant the floor was getting wet. My “clever” solution was to reinstall the faucet, so I could at least control the water.
As soon as I cracked the first tile, I knew there was a problem. The entire subfloor was rotten.
The flange was rusted which had been leaking for (I assume) years into the subfloor.
Peeling back, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
Tile up and cleaned so I can start gutting out the floor.
Floor joists were pretty bad off too
Starting to reframe. Taking note of what needs more cutting back.
Dry fit for subfloor
Once I got everything scabbed in and glued up, I used some ZIP tape to cover any air gaps.
In hindsight, I should have staggered the tile.
First spackle job…which didnt go very well
Throne installed
So this damn fan I bought nearly a year ago….the fan doesn’t work. Lights and speaker are all fine, but the EXHAUST part of the exhaust fan is busted :(
I took the housing apart and tracked the current to the motor housing. It’s getting juice up to the motor, so Im going to assume the motor is dead.
But the light works…so I got that goin for me
Framed. Needs caulk. LIke lots of caulk.
Window reframed
Baskets back in place
